Lisnagry N.S has registered to participate in the pilot of Super Troopers with Laya Healthcare programme for the 2014/15 academic year. This new programme has been created by Laya Healthcare along with teachers and a team of psychologists, nutrition, wellbeing and physical activity experts to encourage children to learn about a healthy lifestyle and increase their physical activity levels. This will help towards meeting the recommended daily activity guidelines of 60 minutes by setting physical activity homework every night. Each child will be provided with activity journals. These are filled with fantastic fun activities to do at home. They are designed to help pupils increase agility, strength, balance and overall activity
levels along with fortnightly healthy lifestyle tips/reflection activities. All the activities set out in the journal can be adapted for any child and any home and are in line with current PE and SPHE curricula. It is a great way for children and their families to become more involved in physical activity whilst also encouraging the benefits of a healthy lifestyle in a fun way.
