Lisnagry National School has a long history of being a Green School.
To date our school has received awards for Litter Control, Energy Conservation and Water Conservation. Our present theme is Travel Sustainability, and we will be working on this theme over the next two years.

Our First Green Flag
Lisnagry N.S had it’s first Green Flag raising ceremony in June 2007. The school was awarded the Green Flag by An Taisce in recognition of it’s environmental awareness and effort in reducing waste and litter in the school and it’s environment. ‘Reduce, reuse, recycle’ was the theme for our campaign.

Our Second Green Flag
We were awarded our second Green Flag in May 2014 for our work on Energy. We have continued our progress reducing our litter and waste but are now also reducing our energy costs and educating ourselves about energy awareness. We have adopted the Power of One theme and realise that we can all help to make a difference.

Our Third Green Flag
We were notified by An Taisce in 2016 that we were successful in our application for our third Green Flag for our work on Water.
