We have had a busy start to the year in Fifth Class. Here are just some of the things we have been up to.
MATHS
We have been enjoying our Maths games each day in class and we look forward to them every morning. Our favourite games are playing on the dart board and multiplication snap.
SCIENCE
In Science, we have been learning all about levers and fulcrums. We used this concept to design and make our own puppets. We had great fun decorating them and making the arms and legs move!
ENGLISH
We took part in a debate against each other. The motion was ‘Homework should be banned in schools.’ The other 5th class and 6th class attended the debate. It was closely contest and both teams put up some wonderful arguments but on the day, the FOR side were the narrow winners. We wonder what Mr. Feeney would have to say about that!
BIZ WORLD
We were so lucky to attend a Biz World workshop for two days during October. We learned all the valuable skills involved in being an entrepreneur and we even set up our own movie companies. We had to pitch our business idea to the ‘dragons’ in order to raise capital to fund our movies and 4th class came to our event and purchased movie tickets and merchandise. It has definitely been the highlight of our school year so far!
