We are all settling well into Fourth Class. It has been  very busy over the last few weeks. Here is an insight into some of the work we have been doing.

In English, we studied the poem ‘The Marrog’ by R.C. Scriven and used this to inspire our creative drawings in Art Class.

As part of our science class, we looked at the various leaves and their structures, while trying to identify the trees they belonged to. We used the leaves and paint in our Art class to make leaf prints. We linked this to fabric and fibre also and constructed autumn leaves using lots of various materials. Also we have painted lovely ‘Scary Silhouettes’ as part of our Halloween art.

In Maths, we have been covering Data. The children had the opportunity to visit various classes and conduct a survey.  Each group then had to represent their results on a different type of graph.  Some of our findings were very interesting!

Winter Landscape Paintings

We had great fun painting our winter landscapes. We learned about the importance of using different brushes and using different brush strokes when painting.
