This week in Lisnagry we are enjoying Seachtain Na Gaeilge.Bhí atmaisféar croíúil spraíúil le brath thart timpeall na scoile agus bhain chuile dhuine an-chuid taitnimh as! The children are busy using the irish language and phrases of the day to earn stamps for their class in Rás ns Stampaí.Nuacht na scoile was read by different pupils over the intercom every day. An exciting CEOLCHOIRM was held and every class level performed a highly entertaining amhrán. Over the last few weeks,4th and 6th class have written their own books as gaeilge in a new “Scriobh leabhair initiative”. On Wednesday they visited the local Gaelscoil and read their books for the pupils there. They also took part in a Trath na gCeist le rang a sé ón nGaelscoil.Also on Wednesday we had a special visitor to the school. Tipperary Hurler Noel McGrath who is an ambassador for the festival this year came and spoke to the pupils all about using their cúpla focal.
The week concludes with a céilí on Friday the 16th of March. Míle buíochas to the teachers and classroom assistants for preparing the children for all the activities and to everyone who helped make the week a success.Beatha teanga í a labhairt!
