The first-ever national celebration of GAA Go Games took  place this week, April 14th-20th, with three days of blitzes in Croke Park, involving 1,500 children from all 32 counties. Lisnagry National School was delighted to be invited to participate and on Monday 14th, 34 boys and girls from our school took part in  what was a wonderful opportunity   for the children to get to play in Croke Park.  As well as getting to play in the fourth  largest stadium in Europe, the children also received a guided tour of the stadium and the museum. It was a  very special event with the Artane Band leading a pre-event parade which included representatives of all 32 counties. Some of our  boys and girls carried the  flags. The initiative was warmly welcomed by Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Liam Ó Néill who was present to greet the players. In the blitz, Lisnagry played teams from County Waterford, Mayo and Antrim. Two past pupils of Lisnagry  National School and members of Ahane G.A.A Club, Ciaran O Mara and Evan Enright did a great job refereeing  the games.

It was  an unforgettable experience for the children and they really enjoyed the day.

Below are some photos from the  wonderful occasion.
